Alexander Kalashnikov

Honorary Cinematographer of Russia, Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Honored Worker of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Since 1983, Alexander worked as a sound engineer at the Krasnoyarsk branch of Sverdlovsk Film Studio, took part in projects of other local and foreign film and television companies. As a sound engineer, he helped shoot more than 87 documentary, animated and feature films, prize-winners of international and all-Russian festivals. Alexander Kalashnikov has been director of the Krasnoyarsk Film Studio since 2001. He won in the category «Best Short Film» for Tango with Balalaika at the 33rd Open Documentary Film Festival «Russia» (2022) — a 44-minute film about the virtuoso musician Sergei Mayorov and the love of his life — the Russian balalaika.
