Kit Kimov

Member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Founder and organizer of the annual regional Exhibition of Contemporary Art Vertical, which has been held since 2009 — a unique platform for both young and experienced artists. Sparrows are the main heroes of the artist’s works — an analogy with people around who live in an urban environment with their own struggles and vulnerabilities. The artist finds source for inspiration all around himself: global events happening in the world, his personal life and experiences or thoughts after reading a book or watching a movie. The artist presents subjects rather surreal, but the themes are always relevant: urban ecology, changes in the world around us, and pressing social issues. A regular participant of city and regional exhibitions and projects, a finalist of all-Russian exhibitions and competitions. His works are in private collections in Russia and abroad. Nominee for the 2023 Erarta Prize, established by Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art in St. Petersburg, the largest private museum of contemporary art.
