My career in IT

«My career in IT» is a regional contest for the development of IT projects.

It has been held since 2016 and during that period has become the largest event in the field of IT for schoolchildren and students. In 2022, a record number of 1686 participants engaged in the contest. The purpose of the contest is to attract young people to the field of innovative technologies and help them choose a future vocation. The organizers of the competition are the Association for the Development of the IT Industry of Yakutia, the Department of Education of the District Administration of Yakutsk, the Kvantorium Children’s Technology park, the Palace of Children’s Creativity named after F.I. Avdeeva, the IT-Cube Center for Digital Education of Children, the «Center for Technical Creativity», «Center for Global Education» Gymnasium.

The competition is supported by the Ministry of Innovation, Digital Development and Info-communication Technologies of Yakutia, the Education Ministry of Yakutia, the Yakutia Technopark State Autonomous Institution, the Association for the Development of the IT Industry of Yakutia, «Young Yakutians» center, the North-Eastern Federal University, the Yakut Scientific Center of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences" and others. The event is sponsored by the largest companies in the industry: InDriver, MyTona, Fntastic, the Republican Center of communication Technologies and Rostelecom, a digital services provider. Ykt.ru news portal acts as their media partner. The contest, being the largest event in the IT sphere for the younger generation, is a unique practice for Yakutia, which has no analogues in other regions of the Russia, uniting all interested parties: the government, business, education and the community.

More than 5,000 schoolchildren and students from 24 municipal districts of the republic have participated in the contest since its beginning. Information technology is becoming more and more relevant and in demand. In 2021, at the Gaidar Forum, Yakutia received the «Digital Region» nomination for the «Digital Summit» award for the active development of innovation infrastructure.
