Founder, Art Director, Chief Conductor of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra

Founder, artistic director, chief conductor and violinist of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Merited Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor, Candidate of Art History. The orchestra became the calling card of the city and the region. Together with his team, he represents Krasnoyarsk at prestigious international and Russian festivals. He has given more than two thousand concerts in Russia and abroad: in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, France, Poland, Portugal. Throughout his career, he performed in the best concert halls in the world. Mikhail Benyumov is the artistic director of a number of major festivals, the most important of which is the annual Asia — Siberia — Europe International Festival of Chamber Orchestral Music, which has been held annually by the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra since 2001. The festival was attended by a number of renowned artists, including violinist Viktor Tretyakov, pianist Eliso Virsaladze, conductor Piero Bellugi and Sheng virtuoso Wu Wei. Laureate of the State Prize of the Krasnoyarsk Krai named after I.V. Spiller in the field of music for the Asia — Siberia — Europe Festival. Holder of the Public Recognition Decoration of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Stradivari Medal (Cremona (Italy) for professional excellence, development and consolidation of cultural relations, Golden Decoration «Coat of arms of Krasnoyarsk» for outstanding contribution to the culture of Krasnoyarsk. Mikhail is an Honorary Citizen of the city of Krasnoyarsk.
